Iridescence in nature

I find it mesmerising that a soap bubble on the washing up, spilled oil outside on a rainy day, or seeing a magpie in the sunlight can have so many vivid, shifting colours. This natural iridescence is a source of inspiration for my fourth year honours project. I'll be building on my research into lustre glazes from last year and I want to look at how I can achieve beautiful, captivating, iridescence similar to the iridescence found in nature.
