Dodecahedron pendant necklace copper
Handmade geometric necklace in a matte copper red glaze with hints of oxideised green copper.
Dimensions: 2.5cm by 2.7cm, 28 inch chain
This necklace is inspired by the metal bismuth which forms in stepped layers and is also glazed using bismuth oxides.
All items are handmade in my studio in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, and this necklace was glazed using iridescent glazes known as in-glaze lustre. Each piece is reduction fired in a gas kiln, a technique that can give different results each time, making each piece unique.
Each piece is slip cast to be hollow, weighing just 10 grams, making it light enough to be worn on the 28 inch long rose gold plated sterling silver chain.
The iridescent glaze changes colour depending on the light, making it an eye catching piece of jewellery.
Presented in a grey Alison Thyra Ceramics gift box.
