This vessel is a sample, a one-off slightly imperfect piece that is discounted due to small flaws or imperfections.
 
It is one of my earliest works, the first piece I made from a 3D printed object and remains the inspiration for my designs today.

Handmade geometric vase glazed with an iridescent in-glaze lustre.

This vase is inspired by the metal bismuth which forms in stepped layers and is also glazed using bismuth oxides. 
 
All items are handmade in my studio in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, this was was glsazed using iridescent glazes known as in-glaze lustre.  They are reduction fired in a gas kiln, a technique that can give different results each time, making each piece unique.
 
Please be aware that all items are handmade using iridescent lustre glazes, which change colour depending on the light. Due to the unique nature of these glazes colours may differ slightly from the photograph.
 
Care instructions:
Not suitable for the dishwasher or microwave. Please handle with care and gently hand wash in warm soapy water.
